The Europe Prize: Journalism for a Changing World

The European Policy Centre along with The Senlis Council organized a Dialogue on the 5th of
February 2004 at the Résidence Palace in Brussels on the important and timely
topic of "European Drug Policy on the Brink of Change". The
event was followed by a prize ceremony for 'The Europe Prize: Journalism for a Changing World',
organized by the International Federation of Journalists. This year's prize was
awarded for "Excellence in Reporting European and Global Drug Issues".
European Commissioner for Justice and Home Affairs, António Vitorino delivered
the opening speech at the EPC Dialogue, and EU Parliament President,
Pat Cox, introduced the IFJ Prize later
that afternoon. The Europe Prize went to journalist Nick Davies of the UK.
