From the 26th to 28th of September 2005, ICOS held The Kabul International Symposium on Global Drug Policy, a high-level international conference that brought drug policy experts from around the world to meet with Afghan government officials, along with other key stakeholders and international organisations present in Afghanistan. The conference addressed issues of drug addiction and treatment, cultivation, eradication and alternative livelihoods and organized crime and legal responses.
The Symposium also marked the release of the initial findings of ICOS's Feasibility Study on Opium Licensing for the Production of Morphine and Other Essential Medicines. View documents released at the Symposium.
