On Global Drug Policy Vienna 2005

On the occasion of the 48th Session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) in Vienna, The Senlis Council organised The Fourth International Symposium on Global Drug Policy: Vienna 2005, which included high-level roundtable discussions on promoting public policies and practices, and building an effective drug policy with Afghanistan. The discussions were concluded by a press conference on the 9th of March.

The Vienna International Symposium was also the forum for the public launch of two important projects by The Senlis Council.
Opium for Morphine Feasibility Study
A feasibility study for the creation of an opium licensing framework for Afghanistan.

The launch of the Senlis Council's latest publication.
The Senlis Council held a press conference on the morning of Wednesday, 9 March at the
Hilton Vienna Plaza Hotel. The press conference panel included the Afghanistan Minister of Counter Narcotics His Excellency Habibullah Qaderi, the Vice-President of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Dr. Massimo Barra, and The Executive Director of The Senlis Council Mr. Emmanuel Reinert.
